I am so scared of automations Iโve only just learnt them this year! Like Iโve never had email welcome sequences - I was like what if they know me IRL or I just saw them in Sains! Iโve got over it now!
Your signature is genius!! Thanks for sharing so openly about it all!!
yesssss Iโve only just started using Asana properly and the recurring tasks are brilliant! Every Sunday night the Asana robot tells me to order the food shopping ๐๐
LOL nice! Iโve been using it for quite a while and think I have a pretty good system! Not that you asked but I know I love this stuff so I thought Iโd share my setup!
I have a few boards set up: one for personal work, one for client work, and one for one specific client who I have monthly recurring work for. Each board has the following columns: Projects, Pending Feedback, and DONE [Month/Year] (I like separating the done column by month so I can see what exactly I got accomplished). I also make sure to apply a due date to each task/entry and assign myself to the task.
And then on the day-to-day I use the โMy Tasksโ tab in list view with the following sections: Pending, Monday, Tuesdayโฆ Friday, Weekend, All The Things. I see all tasks from all boards here, and I just move things around to whichever day Iโm going to work on it that week. Anything for next week stays in All The Things, and anything Iโm waiting on client feedback goes into Pending. I can even move them around on their original boards from this list, so for example when I finish something I open the task and change the drop down beside the project to DONE, then hit that check mark and watch the magic unicorn fly across the screen!
So so interesting Katie! My website sends automated messages after people have bought stuff and sometimes it sends it before the stuff they bought arrives, so I get an email sounding ever so slightly miffed that I have emailed and their stuff hasnโt arrived. And I have to explain about the automated messages.
I love the sound of the Good Ship business course! Will it be idiot proof for scatter brained people like me?? X
Oh my! Automation still sounds scary though ๐
So relatable! The 250 checkboxes ๐ arghh!

The most automation I use is recurring tasks in Asana, which I use to manage my client and person projects.

Thank you for making the mistakes that we may learn from ๐
